2 yrs ago I bought a chassis battery from Walmart. It was the MAXX 65N, which has a 3 yr replacement warranty. Went out yesterday to start the MH and the battery was dead. No lights, buzzer, anything. Checked the connections and they were good. I pulled the battery and brought it to Walmart, without the receipt which I seem to have lost. They put it on an analyzer/charger. It charged the battery and supposedly tested it under load. Once finished, it stated it had passed and was fully charged.
Drove back and put it in. Got lights, buzzer, etc. Turned the key and it made about a 1/2 turn and everything went dead again. Tried jumping the battery and it struggled, but finally turned over and started. Ran it a little bit, turned it off and it was still dead.
So, back to Walmart. The tech guy called the auto service manager and told him what happened. He said no problem, obviously it's no longer holding a charge so we'll replace it under warranty!!

We get all our prescriptions through them.....so convenient when on a long trip and you need refills.....
They have done a great job of putting mom and pop businesses out of business all over the country - wonderful.
In case you haven't noticed, this has been going on for much longer than Walmart has been around. Unfortunately in this day and age, big box stores that give you everything under one roof are much more able to offer lower prices and still make a profit. Can't blame Target, Walmart, Kmart, Costco, etc for following a good business plan. Times change for business and customers.
Prices continue to rise in this country and disposable income seems to fall every year. You can't really blame someone for wanting to spend less on everyday items and you can't blame a business for offering these items in such a way that the customers shop there.

Walmart batteries are a "good news/bad news" story. They almost ALWAYS quit before the warranty is up but MOST of the time they replace them with few questions asked. You apparently just got someone who wanted to cause you some grief. Warranty is good at ANY store which makes it almost worth it to keep replacing batteries constantly.

I bought 2 batteries at a Walmart in Montana on a trip down south a couple years ago.My old ones had froze so I had no choice. The following year I sold the Fiver and they found the one battery had a couple dead cells. I replaced the battery for the guy and took the old one back to Walmart here in Alberta, and they would not honor the warranty because I had bought it in the states.
