We go home mostly because we miss our kids and grandkids. We usually spend much of the trip home planning our next trip out. We're currently just east of St Louis heading west, but we want get back to upstate NY in mid-May for our granddaughter's college graduation. Then we'll be heading right back out again after a few days of restocking, probably to visit with friends in Michigan, and then who knows where.

About 3 months,(maybe),DW has a lot less tolerance, & is ready after a week, depending on where we're at & what we're doing, she did good on our 8 week trip west.

This is probably a question you're asking retired folks. Yeah?

I am looking forward to the day of not having a sticks and bricks home. 30 years of owning some dirt is enough for me. I want to sell and move out of the brick foundation and into a rolling rubber one. I love the idea of being able to change the view just by rolling out to somewhere else. When I get the urge to change the view, climate or even culture, I can turn the key and go.
One thing for sure, towards the end, it doesnt matter if you are in sticks n bricks or an RV, you may end up in a nursing home. As long as I got a recliner, a bed pan and a remote, I will be happy to the end.

Full timing it since July 2012 My pics

We are both teachers, so we get to spend about 3-3 1/2 weeks in the 5th wheel every summer with the 2 kids. I am never ready to come home until we start the actual drive back. We usually go on long trips with 2-3 day drives back to Texas. This summer will be be stretching to almost 4 weeks. Once we actually get back I realize how much I missed my bathroom and dishwasher.

Longest I've ever been on the road was 4 months. Could've gone on forever. But in one place? A week tops. Unless there's family nearby I'm ready to keep moving.

We take two week trips in the summer in our Class B and I am never ready to come home. I think one of the reasons is that we travel to Colorado in the summer and when we drive back to Texas it is too hot.

We do, however, often break up our trip by staying one night in a motel in the middle of our trip. That helps.

Our weekend trips are too short but that's life when you are not yet retired.

Korbe, I guess I was asking everyone in general. It seems people that are retired and have bigger TT/MH can tolerate it a lot longer than I can. We have a 24 ft Jayco with one couch slide. The bathroom is what gets me most. I need room to breathe in there! Lol I'll bet I could go a lot longer if we had just a bit more room. But we got this TT last year so I doubt we'll upgrade any time soon.

You may feel better in a largr trailer, we never want to go home once we get the chance to get away. We love being on the road but so far have only been able to spend one month at a time traveling. I do get a little bored if we stay in one place longer than 10 days withbut going anywhere os seeing anything new. I just want to move not go home .

The longer I'm out the less I want to go back home. I travel with my dog, and my 40' 3 slide diesel pusher is just right for the two of us.
