One idea that seems to help me is that I never consider our small 5th wheel as "home" even though we love it.To me, we are always "camping" therefore I do not ever expect to have all the comforts of home when on the road. I'll leave that to those with the 35 ft. rigs.

We go for 5 months or so, and don't want it to end. If it was up to me I'd sell the house in a heartbeat. The longest we stay somewhere is a week. Every couple of days we look at each other and say "why is this so much fun?" Limited interior space, tiny shower, but we both love it. But then we take a light-sport aircraft with us and see each new area from both the ground and the sky.

About the third day, I'm really to head home.

Korbe, I guess I was asking everyone in general. It seems people that are retired and have bigger TT/MH can tolerate it a lot longer than I can. We have a 24 ft Jayco with one couch slide.

Try and spend more time outdoors. Do you spend most of your time inside watching TV, reading and using the PC? If so, I can see it becoming a little claustrophobic.

The bathroom is what gets me most. I need room to breathe in there! Lol

I'm not sure what you mean here. There is always the bathrooms and showers at the places you stay. We too have a very small bathroom in our 28' BRS but we don't care. It's easier to clean. I have seen quite roomy bathrooms in RVs but then the space is lost somewhere else. And honestly... how much time do people spend in their bathrooms?

I'll bet I could go a lot longer if we had just a bit more room. But we got this TT last year so I doubt we'll upgrade any time soon.

If you want room you really need to get either a 5th wheel or a 30' plus TT with 2 slides.

I get bored if we stay in one place too long and there isn't much to do in said place. I'm the type that would like to move every week or so. I could go fulltime but DH wont hear of it.

Thus far, we've never been gone for more than 2 weeks at a time, due to our work schedules. I'm hopeful when the day comes when we can, that I will be able to enjoy longer trips. I love our home and I love our motor home and miss either one if I haven't been in it for a while. I can understand being "ready" to go to either one at any given time.

We started out in a 24' Isata motor home for the first 4 years. Our first real trip after DW retired was 2 weeks. When our son went off to college we began taking longer trips and included being there for all of his baseball games both home and away. This stretched into a 3 month stint in the motor home with an occasional trip home to take care of things. By his Junior year we knew this was something we really wanted to do so we found and bought our new 34' Allegro Bay motor home. That year we left home as usual at the end of January to start baseball season. His team ended up in the playoffs which took us to Kentucky. At that point we decided we were so far along and he had already made plans to stay at school and work over the summer so we just kept going! That resulted in about 6 months in the motor home. Last year we were home exactly 20 days and if we hadn't had to meet with our tax man we probably wouldn't have even done that. A home on the gulf coast, right where hurricane Ike hit full force is not easy to move especially in a down housing market. We are fortunate enough to not have to sell so we keep it in hopes that the market will turn back and we won't lose money. If that happens then color us FULLTIMERS for the foreseeable future.

Both retired. Travel with Nicky the Schnoodle. Son graduated and is teaching high school math. We still love our 2006 34' Allegro Bay XB and have 40,000+ miles on her.

That's called SLAVERY. Even slaves got one day a week off.

Why? Do you get bored? What makes you want to go home after only a few days?

When I start gtting bored with the campground, I start venturing out to the surrounding area and that generally cures that bored feeling. I'll get a local newspaper to see what's happening and find something to attend. Might even go yard sale hunting. I might agree with you about liking the home dishwasher, but I don't miss those amenities enough to cut short a camping trip. I like the CG showers for water quantity and water pressure, and I don't have to clean the soap scum. I like the camper more than home - less possessions to be ruled by, and if I so choose, the view can be different daily. And - neighbors seem to be alot nicer at the campgrounds. No competition for a manicured lawn!
