Your pic looks like you have tread plate also. So why would post fab be needed to add the plate?

I was able to get some work done on the passenger side this weekend:
With the passenger side lift removed:

Holes drilled in the new metal and mocked up, ready for tacking

The lift tacked into place onto the new steel

Stacking dimes....

Burned in and mocked up on the camper. Notice the additional gusseting that I did on the 2 tubes that do the heavy lifting. I also offset the jack 2" to the back because the camper lifts tail-heavy, and Mont @ StableLift suggested I shift it back a coupule inches.

I still have 2 more reinforcements to add.... I am going to tie the bracketry further under the wing for added support and into the original location, but I ran out of time today.

Also, after talking to Mont at StableLift, and several other folks, and taking measurements at least 5 additional times, I decided to go 6.5" out from the edge of the wing instead of the originally planned 4.5", because it just simply won't fit. They are built at 106" from the factory. This is quite simply because it will not fit on a dually and stay within the 102" limit, otherwise the jack unit itself will contact the fender while going down the road.
I used 1/4" plate, 10" wide and 6 feet long. It sits 3.5" under the wing on the mounting point, and hangs over 6.5".
I know this will stir additional controversy, but it is what it is. My final measurements will be: Camper: 93" wide, StableLift extending 6.5" from camper wing on both sides, 106" total. Inside Width from jack to jack is 101". Fenders on pickup: 96", giving me 2.5" of clearance on either side.
I could have gone for much less clearance if it was just for loading/unloading, but since the jack assembly stays on the camper while moving, and is positioned right at the fender, if the camper were to shift 1/2" while traveling it would result in contact with the fender.

Finished up the tying the original reinforcements into the new steel tonight:

And now to start the other side... It should go quicker because I have a feel for what I'm doing and have all the brackets cut and ready to go.

Looks good Mike. I think you will be a lot happier with the extra clearance! Can't wait to see the final build.

Started on the driver's side tonight. Here are some before pictures:

And shortly after tacking the driver's side together I ran out of welding gas so I had to stop until I can get the tank filled tomorrow. In the meantime, I made a discovery of a great use for the new real estate

Got some more welding gas today and got the driver's side finished tonight:

Next step is the bottom bars. Cut, splice in 13" of 2" .120 wall DOM and sleeve/slug with a couple 1.75"/.120 wall DOM at the joint.
Then primer, paint and a test run

Hokey Smoke- when you started talking about this I didnt realize what you actually were planning. Looks like it should to work. My only suggestion would be some large radii on those top plates-be the first thing Id run into but other than that looks good. Well maybe some ribbed rubber tops to keep so you dont leave rings

I hope you have some REALLY GOOD padding for the exposed corners of that plate steel, it looks like about ten kinds of ways to maim yourself if you walk into them. And what's with that blue plastic junction box? Please tell me it wasn't full of scary 120VAC junk waiting to kill someone.
