I wonder if the Winegard motorized antenna control panel could be placed in the living area in view of the TV or does it have to be at the base of the antenna? I just hate having to get up the steps to the bedroom move the antenna then find that I have to move it again......

Since the power and control is fed through the coax cable, I don't see what it could not be positioned anywhere you can manage to patch it in. Be sure, however, that there are no switchboxes or splitter in between which may mess up the signal to the antenna motor.
