We are looking to replace a motorhome with a fifth wheel to live in for the next 16 months and then seasonally. Can you please help me with some names of good used ones which will be well insulated foe our damp and cold winters? We are looking for someting in the $30,000 range with as much room as possible for 2 adults, dog, cat and occassional visitor or two. Thanks for your help!

A used Alpenlite pre 2006. They went out of business about 2008 but in 2006 started to cut corners trying to survive. Very good quality.

Arctic Fox all the way!! Try the Fox Mt, in that price range. Foxes aren't cheap or light but great quality

For your price a used Alpenlite would be the best choice. Again, they are not light so you will need a lot of truck to move them.

The Jayco Eagle line or Cougar High Country line can be had with polar packages. You would have to add skirting to any of them to prevent wind from blowing underneath. You can typically get 8-15,000 off the list prices.

You can go with any of the above or maybe a Drv select or mobile suites. We are purchasing a 2006 mobile suites for under $30,000. It had more storage than the alpenlite we were looking at.

We recommend Arctic Fox--currently on our 2nd one. From So. Calif. have taken trips to Northern Rockies area of B.C.(Muncho Lake)--to Florida--and many points between. Arctic Fox is made by Northwood Mfg., in La Grand, Or. They make their camper as well as the trailer for the camper. They are a 4 seasons 5'vr--have shock absorbers and leaf springs as standard equipment. Have an excellent rep. for customer service--you can call the factory and not get the run around--or go to their annual factory Rally--take tours of the factory or go to their Forum and get questions answered by current owners. Good Luck, Lars
