I would like to buy an owners manual for a 2008 duramax. I have the truck manual but not the one for the engine.

Thanks

Head over to the diesel place forum and ask. I'm sure someone has a pdf copy of the diesel supplement manual they would send you. I have an 06 so it's slightly different than yours.

Try E-bay. Or have any GM dealer order it for you.

I have a silly question. I bought a Dodge Ram here a while ago and got an owner's manual with it and also a DVD titled Owner's Information. I am wondering how you access it in your truck if you are not carrying a laptop or other system to read it. If you don't have the laptop or other system, it seems to me to be pretty useless. When you talk about getting the PDF files, do you guys download them and print or just look them up when you need them?

You can go to the owner support section of chevrolet.com and to your truck and model year and all the manuals are available to download as a PDF - owner manual, Duramax manual, Allison manual, etc. and no need to login to anything.
Any Duramax manual up to 2010 will work for your truck.

I prefer a PDF anyway as it is faster to search for the information I need which is usually located in more than one place.

I use the digital version 100% of the time as it takes less time to search for the information I need. It is a PDF file so it can be read on any computer or even a tablet style computer.

The Duramax, Allison, and Silverado owner manual are all separate and I usually need to combine information from two or more to get a complete answer.
