I bought this for my Dodge dually about a month ago.

I don't recall the exact price but I save money by picking it up in person and there was a unadvertised sale at the time so I did good
95 gallons plus 35 in the truck tank, If I remember correctly the 12 volt pump moves 15 gallons a minute, If the truck is down to 1/4 tank 2 minuted brings me up to full.
If the tank is empty it is light enough to remove from the bed.
The transfer tanks are complicated to install but this thing went in fast and I did it without help.
The pump was not included in the price, it was about $300 extra.
The total price was way less than an automatic transfer tank
I once read that studies have shown that most accidents occurr within 10 miles of home, so I moved

camperguy99 wrote: I think most of these too small fuel tank questions come from folks that choose to buy the short box Ford truck. Short box...27 gals. Long box...38 gals? Just me but I got the 2011 F350 Supercab SRW with the 38 Gal tank. Lot more fuel than I have bladder!
My truck tank is about 35 gallons, I got the extra tank because diesel is very expensive in NY and there are gas stations in NY that are difficult to get into. Some stations have the fill caps located where the delivery truck can park in the street without entering the station.

ok. sounds like so far most have gone with transfer tanks. have looked at transfer flow they are expensive. dealer wanted almost $1900 for set up but did not say what brand. Thinking of going with auto transfer-sounds like the pump is about 1 gallon/minute. At 9mg-that would be about a 900 mile cruising range comfortably with stock tank.
I was going to go with the auxilliary tank (seperate system) but it is about 3 weeks before they can do it. Also seemed to have a lot more connections instead of just a connection at fuel filler. DTE calculation would be off with that type too.
Any issues with check engine lights on auto transfer while driving?

Another vote for American Tank in Frisco! A switch between the OEM and the Aux, and the gauge reads the tank you using. I put in a 60 gal tank, plenty range to fill up while not towing.

I did this about a month ago in my F250 SB with the Pace Edwards Bed Locker bed cover. When the bed cover is closed up the fuel tank is not visible and it is locked away so thieves will not siphon off my liquid gold.

I keep thinking about an auxiliary tank and then I think about the weight. 50 gal of diesel is about 375 lbs plus the tank, figure 400 lbs. My normal setup has 5900 on the rear axle rated for 6693. And I don't have a large 5er.
I'll probably go with a 40 gal or so with a hand pump if I add anything.

I have an ATTA 45 gallon auxiliary tank that fits under my rolltop cover. Works like a champ and has for the past 3+ years. It has been in and out of the dealer and never had a warranty problem or even a question about the install.
I did have a problem with the pump that ATTA supplied but they have upgraded their pumps to a much bigger pump. Their is nothing like an auxiliary tank. No longer are you help hostage to the fuel gauge -- you can stop whenever you like to get fuel.
Check out MY PICTURES. I did the install myself.

I had a 2011 F350 but just traded up to a 2012 F350. I bought a small 30 gallon tank that fits under a rolling bed cover made by American tank. I LOVE IT! The reason I went with an in the bed tank instead of a replacement is because I wanted to take it from truck to truck. This paid off when I switched trucks last week. I never had a problem with Ford in regards to the tank effecting the warrenty. American Tank sent a special module for my factory up-fitter switches which made it very nice.
