Ok u guys have been so helpful in the past so here is my new question. How do I transport 2 Nonda generators in an enclosed vehicle while towing our 22 foot trailer? We tow with a Suburban and the wife will not agree to transport generators in the trailer or the Suburban. So what to do. I am looking for ideas. THanks!!

While two generators make it a bit more difficult, I know of those that find a plastic storage box that the Honda fits in & stores it in the shower while traveling. If she really can't deal with it in the trailer, about your only choice is to add an external storage box, either on the tongue or, if you have (or can add) a rear trailer hitch, add a hitch cargo carrier in back.

I'm assuming they are 1000-2000W gens, so why not make or have a cargo tray made for the rear of the TT? The 2000W gens are only 45lbs so two would be 90lbs. Not much for a TT bumper.

The sewer hose bumper, I'd not put any type of load on, other than a spare tire bracket. Instead, I'd see about a receiver hitch attached to the back of the TT, then using a locking cargo carrier that attaches to the hitch on the back of the TT. (With that specific carrier, I would also consider drilling two holes and securing the generators to the metal frame of the carrier via a chain or cable, but generally out of sight is out of mind.)

This way, the generators are in a secure location, and neither in the TT or the Suburban. There is likely enough room for a couple gas cans as well.

Not even in the TT basement? Where are you going to carry fuel?

I use these from Camping World: Catalog Item # 56076
They look like luggage so just put a shirt over the generator and put it in the Surburban.

I assume that buying a new one each place you camp is out of the question. Might let her go without HAVING a generator for a day or two and she may change her mind

I guess solar is in your future. Tell her how much that costs.

I have a Honda eu2000i and it has a gas cap that can be turned off so no fuses can escape. I believe they are for the California market. There are absolutely no fumes that are released and you have to turn the cap to the on position to run the generator or it will create enough vacuum in the tank to stop the flow of gas. I carry mine in the back of my Jimmy and I'd never know it was there.

Gopod luck!

Yes, but what's happened to me over time is all those little fuel spills add up to a gas-stinky generator. Yeah, guess I could clean it, but mine ride in the truck bed.
