You can't get a better made or longer lasting tire than Michelin. Worth every penny to me.

Yes, you can. About half the cost seems to be for the name.

Honestly...for that size, I would seriously consider Doublecoin. I would run Treadwrights or Bandags in the back.

No thanks. If I just drove around my home maybe, but I travel extensively and Chinese tires don't interest me at all.

Perhaps you would prefer Michelins from Thailand?

Look, I don't want CHEAP tires, meaning cheaply made tires, ok? If Chinese tires were decent quality, maybe. They, as far as I know, are not.

Doublecoins ARE top quality...they are more and more common on OTR trucks and highway coaches. I recall International is installing them as OEM on new school buses.

Did you look at recaps? They are just as good as new, not sure they do your size but would think they would be cheaper then buying new. Just can't (or shouldn't) use them on the front IMO.

Myself I love installing .com parts on a customers vac system. No warranty issues for me and when the part goes bad I get to charge labor all over again . Just did a vac-pan for a customer the other day and the first time I was out the switch was bad so he was charged $65.00 labor (one hour) for my time to drive out then another hour to install the replacement part. He didn't seem happy about it but I asked him what he would do if the table was turned. He made out the check and called me a week later to install the replacement part.
