I run Michiblows on the rear of my dumptruck as they are the ONLY brand with an 18 ply rated 225-70-19.5 traction tire. Otherwise, I do not see paying for them tires. Bridgestone, Toyo, Cooper, and YES DoubleCoin are way ahead of Michiblows when it comes to putting treads on my rigs! I also have no issues running "retreads" on that rig either.

That is painful. If you're not dead set on Michelin, you can go with Continental HDR (factory tires worth a darn?) for about $2000 for six shipped from tirerack.com

You would have to really hate some one to advise them to put Continental on their truck.

Give me Michelins all day long and twice on Sunday. They ride the nicest and last the longest and seem to be pretty quiet. Got over a 90k outta of them on my old Sierra. Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

Talking to an otr driver at work, he had Doublecoin tires on his steer axle. He said they were his second pair...the first went over 100k (they went longer than the Michelins tney replaced), he had them capped, they have run ANOTHER 100k as drive tires. Needless to say, the current steer tires will be replaced with another pair of Doublecoins!

When you fork over twice as much for Michelins, you get HYPE!

Michelins are hands down the best tire out there. I hear people that can't afford Michelins, spreading BS and HYPE about what they can afford. Usually a much less tire in every way.

i think some of us are talking about different tires, i am certain in the big truck world there are better tires than michelin. however on my pickup trucks i have had very good luck with michelins and wouldnt hesistate to buy them again.
