local rv dealer having a great sale this weekend. model 'close' to what I am looking for is there and a great price. BUT it is not exactly what I want and the upholstery/leather couch etc. is not exactly to my taste, BUT I could live with it, but do I want too?
Just curious if the camper you have now is exactly the one you were hoping to buy from the start?
We knew what we wanted & needed and we waited until it presented itself. I won't lie, we were sorely tempted by two other units that would have been "okay", but I'm glad we held out. We found the exact unit we wanted about 50 miles from home. Drove over there one morning, dropped the PUP, wrote a check, picked up the Dutchmen and drove home. And we couldn't be happier with our new TT!
To me, it wasn't much a matter of the cost. I knew what we needed and was willing to pay, within reason, what it would cost. I'm sure there are people who would think we made a good deal and others who would say we didn't. All that matters to me is that we are deliriously happy with our choice, so that *makes* it a good deal to me.
Best of luck to you.

Our TT (first after tent / pup / school bus / and 2 class Cs ) had a good price and was in good condition. It was 10 years old but had been on a private lot so when I bought it it had 75 miles on it. The Mrs liked that it had a table and chairs instead of a dinette. Being empty nesters we did have to do some digging to find one that did not have 'BH' in its initials but looking for exactly what we wanted?
For 50 years I was ( and for 28 years WE were) in and out of military housing so being picky about a specific floor plan seems a vague concept .

if we were in your situation we would wait and get precisely what we want. this presumes that precisely what we want actually exists. were kind of in that situation now. thinking of buying new but can't find a floorplan we like. we'll wait.

In 2006 my husband said with a challenge "find a camper with a king size bed and a large full bathroom" and I will consider looking at it. He said this because there were very few trailers with a king size bed and a large full bathroom on one floor. We went to a camping show and I found one that had these things and everything else was just okay. So we got the two things that my husband wanted. After snowbirding for several years and a few trips north and summer camping, we still love it. So pick a few things that you know you want in a camper and enjoy.

Sit down with the build sheet and get everything you want and save money at the same time…
The dealer has nothing to recoup in the yet to be built trailer…

I shopped makers offering trailers at our price point with a general floorplan we liked. After narrowing it down to a maker who's trailers seemed well made I ordered the floorplan from them to get just the options and colors we wanted. No regrets

I guess we did have to settle because what we wanted had sold. We ended up taking a larger TT for even less money and are so glad for the extra room and the couch.

We bought bigger than intended and $10K over budget. Not sorry though!
