$17,500 for a 1996 gas job. Way to much.

The low mileage is what would concern me because when a gasoline motor just sits gasoline starts the gel up and it ruins fuel injectors IF it has fuel injection, if it has carburetor same problem with jets plugging up. Take it out for a good run and check it out to see how it runs. The 454 hp chevy engine is a powerful engine gets around 7 mpg all the time. Check the tires to see if they are not over five years on the stamp date. Check for oil or fluid leaks. Sometimes when engines just sit the rear main seal will start to leak. You will see oil dripping between the engine and transmission.

Not sure about the price, you would have to look that up see how nada has it valued.

Good luck! Maybe you found a little jewel?

Their right about sinking 3-5k into it once you get it due to age. I was totally robbed on 1989 fleetwood flair. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse my mechanic told me the other day I have leaks in my intake valves front and back. I'm on my second box of tissues...

If you were to buy it for $7000 (thats what I'd offer them) I'm sure they will say; no way.
you will spend $3000 on it before you make your first big trip.

I paid $7k for a used 1998 Vortec chassis moho in 2009. It had 30k... ended up doing about $6k worth of parts/work which included new brakes on all 4 corners, new Ebrake shoes, new complete front end, new rear leafs, new shocks, headers, intake, roof seams sealed, refloored the inside, and minor interior remodel. Had I hired someone... the chassis work alone would have been north of $6k. The coach did have year old tires when I bought it. Of course it was my first coach so I didnt know any better and wasnt about to drop $100k on a new hobby. So if youre the type to "outsource" work... find a newer model coach for a few $$$ more. $25k should get you an early 2002-05 model. Obviously not at retail.

New, that 1996 Bounder went for $69,300. At present time, $7,000 to $8,500. $17,500 is a bit to much.

Check DOT dates on tires and Load test Batteries are a couple of things that I did not see. That unit has not been used much, with only 25,000 miles on it. I would be wary of seals that have taken a set and may leak. If it were me looking at that unit, I would also like to see a compression test (wet and dry). You may meed to have the fuel system cleaned also, unless you can verify that stabilizer was used constantly during the life of the unit.

If it was stored outside, I would also be concerned with the condition of the roof and roof fittings for UV failure.

Good Luck on your quest.
