Scott is the 2000 payload what is listed inside the drivers door? on the yellow sticker, that seams high if it doesnt have the HD payload package. You cant go by the brochure for payload rating it varies depending on options, each option adds to the weight of the truck

All things equal you will not notice the 3.73 vs the 3.55.
Get the max payload and towing packages whatever the ratio.
I would be looking at the door to make sure it says 8200 gvwr.

Get max towing package fro about $600. It comes with the large towing mirrors, integrated brake controller, and about 400 pounds more payload which is what every RVer needs. Ride is not compromised. 3.73 axle vs. 3.55 is unmeasureably different.

I've got max tow, but not the hd payload (payload = 1969lbs). Drives great, like a caddy. The HD payload won't fit in my garage.

Thanks all for your replies. Your input was very helpful.
We ended up shopping for a 3.73 axle ratio and Max Towing package. We had to drive a couple hundred miles to the dealership that had it in stock (not so easy to find!), but we came home with a beautiful FX2 with the 3.73 axle ratio and max tow pkg.
Now we need to buy the TT.
Thanks again to all!
