Well 3/9 of this yr, we had to send Shasta, our Bichon, to the Rainbow bridge. Wife wanted to wait to get another friend, I wanted new bud soon. Well I had to go to humane society in Yuma to get my dog fix everyday. Made me feel good to go around & pet the dogs, all of them, several times. Anyway wife decided she needed to go get dog fix & pet them too. Well, this poor little abused Bichon was there that day!! We really believe Shasta sent us there to save this poor little dog "Wow what a blessing, & helped fill the hole in heart!! This dog is Shasta, reincarnated,I swear! It is really wierd the similarities. Feels so good to save a pound dog, they need a chance! Also going to volunteer at humane society in Yuma next yr. They are wonderful people. Sorry for long post, just wanted to share happiness. The Quigley's from Idaho

Congratulations on your new wee one. God bless you and all rescuers. All my dogs have been rescues. One of my last ones had been abused. They do carry more baggage than other dogs. Mine started to have some behavioral issues and started biting. We worked with an animal behaviorist who taught us how to handle it. Just wanted to let you know that even if you have some issues, they can usually be easily remedied. Thank God this little one found you!

Good luck!

That's a great story. We have been blessed to know many dogs in our lives. They each have had such a distinct personality. It has worked out that we seem to always have an older dog and a younger one. When the older one starts to really age, we get another pup. That way, the pup is taught by the other ones. When the old dog finally goes over the bridge, the middle dog,(and us) isn't so lonely.

So glad you could share the warmth in your heart with a little one, and feel that warmth returned. May you have many happy times together.

I posted last Sat that we had just adopted a Golden Retriever. He is man afraid but doing well with me and has just taken over the MH. I'm glad to hear someone else has had a good experience.

Tis another fine day to serve in and for the glory of the Corps. Every day is a holiday and every meal a feast.

Congrats! I always go with a rescue dog, and it seems like on the day I'm ready, the perfect dog is always there waiting.
