Shelter animals arent broken. They've simply experienced more life than other animals. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tails to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage.
Don't pity a shelter animal adopt one and be proud to have their greatness at your side.
I printed this off and framed it and it is hanging on one of my walls to teach me to look at animals at shelters differently than I have been.
Well I have to admit I was one of them people who had the attitude that I only wanted puppys. Never wanted a older rescue no matter what. I thought I didn't want the dog with someone else s problems...........Than two years ago Dudley came into our lives.
Man what a fool I was, after experiencing Dudley I will never again buy a puppy. I can't imagine him sitting in a shelter some where just existing.
