IMO you are better of putting that large chunk of $ in savings so you have it for repairs. I have self insured for 20 years of MH ownership.

Let the varying opinions begin . We use their biggest competitor, Xtra-Ride, yet to need them, so can't offer an opinion. I paid $50 for it (transfer fee from prior owner who picked up the $1745 tab for 7 yr plan).

Sad to say, time to sell to a good home.

Good Sam has various ESP's
1. The 1 year is a ripoff, we call it the BAD SAM at work hardly covers anything and they figure if an RV'er buys a 1 year he has pre-existing and they use that to deny coverage. AND, there is truth to that as we have had customers we have diagnoised with a problem and then 1 month later they come in to have it fixed and they have a 1 month old Bad Sam policy. Bad Sam usually denies coverage because of pre-existing and make the RV'er prove otherwise.
2. The MULTIYEAR Good Sam policies are pretty good and they rarely deny coverage, but they will send a adjuster if the total repair goes over about $500, so you have to wait until the adjuster gets there and approves the repair, not good if on a trip.
3. Xtraride is the BEST policy out there, check into it versus Good Sam. Doug

I have a customer with a 2008 Beaver. He paid $5500 for a 7 year policy Xtra ride policy. We did NOT sell it and we don't sell Xtra ride. He purchased used in 2009, no warranty as Monaco was out of business. So far, at our shop, Xtra ride has paid $14,000 in claims in 3 years. Yes, he wasted his money . Sometime the customer wins the bet with the Insurance company and he still has 4 years left on the policy.

Xtra-Ride Platinum from Wholesale Warranties is the best coverage for the best price. Now into year two of five year coverage and used them a few times and already covered about 60% of what I paid. Talk with Jeff.

I used to adhere to the waste of money philosophy but not any longer. There are just too many computer an electrical components that are made very inexpensively overseas that fail on a regular basis.I will check out the very best coverage I can find on any major purchase.
