Hopefully that will alleviate the issue of damaging rigs. I now tend to use Lukeville going north & Nogales going south.

It will be interesting to see how they will handle RV's? At one time there was talk of a special lane.

According to a May 1 report there is now a lane for RV'rs @ Nogales. You approach in lane 1 and they will open lane 0. This is the lane used by the buses. I cannot verify this info.

We crossed 4/30 around 6pm. Went with the car lanes as signs directed. While in lane 2 agents walked out to us, held up traffic and directed us to lane 1 which then opened to lane 0. They claim that the car lanes are too narrow for big rigs ,we are 37' class A & a toad, so lane 0 at the far left is the only option. Personally I believe the car lane is doable, maybe fold the mirriors but have had to that elsewhere in Mexico. At this time once you clear you have a very sharp 9o deg. left turn. Agents say many rigs have to disconnect toads to make it but I found it no problem, just swing way right then turn. Agent was a fellow we have crossed with before and the whole experiance went quick and friendly. 25 minutes start to finish.

You may have to disconnect your toad!!!! Hasn't home land security heard of traffic engineers? I can understand the old port not being RV friendly but the new one!!!!

Finally, the border folks have figured it out. Last trip we went through lane one and the rear of the 5W (39') hit one of the posts as we turned out of the lane to go to secondary. Was told at secondary if we had asked, they would have opened lane 0! No signage to that affect or anyone volunteering.

THANKS for the report, but I do'nt get it explain if there is no sings directing RV's or we just take lane 1 or 0 on the far left, and if gate 0 is always open or they opened for you...

Just stay to the left as you approach. The 0 lane was opened for our RV and that also was were the agents entered the rig for secondary inspection. As for the sharp left, that should go away as the upgrade project is finished.
