We're currently camped in Branson, MO, and our next stop will be in Salina, OK. Google maps shows the shortest route as US-65 south to Arkansas route 412 west to the Cherokee Turnpike in OK. 412 looks like a pretty decent 2-lane highway in Google's satellite view, but I can't tell how hilly it is. If anyone in the forum is familiar with this route, I'd appreciate your comments on how good or bad it might be for a 33' Class A towing a toad. The alternative appears to be traveling back north on US-65 to I-44 west.
412 has been widened from 21 to Springdale, AR. Good road, have traveled it many times pulling the fifth wheel. It is hilly and curvy by many travelers standards. I live in Shell Knob, Mo, about 40 miles north of 412, it is flatter and straighter than what we are used to.

Thanks muchly everyone! I was hoping it was a good RV route, but I haven't run into anyone here in Branson that was familiar with it. For some reason, there seems to be an awful lot of tourists here that don't know the area... Including me...
Just drove part of 412 yesterday not realizing it was part of our route. From Harrison to Alpena is 62/412, very good road. I have not driven it from Alpena to 21, but 412 west to the state line from 21 has been widened and resurfaced recently.
I've been remiss in not getting back to this thread. We made the trip from Turkey Creek RV Park in Hollister, MO (a couple of miles from Branson) over Rt 65 to Rt 412 and then up Rt 82 in OK to Snowdale State Park near Salina, OK completely without incident on 4/30. As you all said, it was really a pretty nice ride. Thanks again!
