Ours is dual axle with EZ-Lube hubs. Every spring I lube three hubs using EZ-Lube. I then pull a forth hub to check brakes, bearings, and hand pack. That way I see each hub and parts once every 5 years.

I don't doubt a longer period works for some or even many folks. I'm not willing to take the risk.
Dexter specifies 12 months/12,000 miles. From their FAQ: Quote: E-Z LUBE - What is the E-Z Lube option?
The E-Z Lube option was designed specifically for the marine application where the axles are constantly being immersed in water. This feature provides a convenient method for purging the water from the hub cavity without having to pull the hub every time. The hubs should be removed every 12 months or 12,000 miles to inspect the bearings and it is imperative to replace the seal at this time to assure that the grease does not leak out the back onto the brake linings rendering the brakes non-functional. (Emphasis added for those who dispute these are boat trailer axles and don't require annual maintenance. )
Bearing failure is directly proportional to the number of days the bearings are back-ordered in East Bubba where all breakdowns occur.

My Forest River dealer said that they should be re-packed every year and said he didn't care where I took it as long as I got it done. The local Jayco dealer told me every few years or so? aaarrggghhhhh

Every other year may be OK but at my first inspection it was noted the factory really hadn't properly lubricated the bearings and most of the grease was gone. Wheel bearings are certainly a weekend killer and may be a vacation killer. Season is too short for me to not do this annually.

My Bearings get checked every year during State inspection. I take the TT to a Trailer shop for inspection and work if needed. Need to be careful with Easy Lube (which I have) During inspection, they noted too much grease which can damage the bearing and seals. Explains why I have been seeing streaks of grease on the wheels.
