DW and I have been full timing for over three years now, and we're finally deciding that a colapsable ladder of some sort would come in handy. There are three types we are considering, and want to get some input from you folks.
The extendable ladder which shortens down to about 2 feet, but can be extended one section at a time to a desired length.
The foldable type that is in four sections that fold, but can be turned into a form of a scaffolding
The fold up type that folds into a 4X4 shape but is 6 foot long. It looks like a 6 foot step ladder when it is all set up.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Happy camping!

2003 Allegro Bus 40DP that we absolutely love! :-) Our Blog
We picked up our Little Giant collapsible at Costco on sale. It's also available at Sam's Club and others. Ours has a 1A load rating, over 300lbs. I'm a fairly good sized man and wanted the better load rating. We can use it as a step ladder to work on the exterior of the RV or switch it over to an extension style if I need access to the roof. It folds up nicely and fits into the basement on our 5er easily.

Just got it and learning about it as we go!
I use the one that folds down to 4x4 and I like it ok. I did not get the one that has the top step and I wish I spent the extra for it. I really like the small size. It fits in the basment area and takes up no room
We have this one, and we love it. Easy to carry, easy to store, and solid once set up. I didn't want to have to lean on the trailer with a ladder.

I have the first one you mentioned and also the last one 4X4 on board. They are used for different purposes such as getting on the roof and the other one for maintenance. They take up little space.
Put us down for the 4x4 as well. I looked at it for at least 3 years, and kept walking away. I just couldn't justify the price. I finally bit the bullet and am really glad I did. Get the 7', that will get you almost to the roof of your coach and will still easily fit in the basement. I bought mine at Camping World

With the roof at 10ft I don't know how you will be getting there from 6ft ladder. Even from 7ft it will be a little tricky. The ladder should be something at least 10 ft assembled. Preferably step-ladder as it is more stable, but telescopic will do if storage size is an issue and you are willing to accept some risk. Like this one.
