I know this has been on here before but I'm planning on purchasing a 2012 Ford Focus SE Automatic tomorrow and would like to hear from anyone who has been towing one regarding any problems or any suggestions as to whether I should go with this or not. I'll be towing with a Blue Ox Aventa LX.
Thanks
Nick

It is no longer towable 4 down.....Ford issued a change to the owners manual recently and they will not allow an auto to be towed....The actual insert was posted on here last week.

Bob, are you sure you're talking about the Focus and not the Fusion? Can you tell me the date and topic where the insert was posted here last week?
Thanks
Nick

Here is the Link to the thread.
Here is the Link to the 2012 Owners manual with the supplement. It is the 2nd down in the right column.
Here is the Link to the actual page from the 2012 manual supplement above.

The links posted by The Texan are for the Ford Escape. The OP was asking about the 2012 Focus which according to information I find is still 4 down towable.

Ford Focus is NOT towable 4 down unless it is a standard transmisson, you need to use a tow dolly.

Check the transmission, as Ford uses the same transmission in several models.....ANY model using the same transmission as the Escape is NOT towable 4 down.

The 2012 Focus does not share with the Escape for 2012. My owners manual for my 2012 Focus with the new automatic says that it is towable 4 down. Checked with the 2012 Ford towing guide also states it is 4 down towable. Prior years were not however.
