We roll out a foam pad, then a sleeping bag, on the sofa bed. Over that, a sheet, blanket, quilt as necessary. Takes only a few minutes to fold everything up and toss in the overhead.

We never use our king bed for a table or seating arrangement, and we hate sleeping in sleeping bags. We bought a 3" memory foam, use a regular king size fitted sheet that we tuck under the memory foam only. This makes it easier to make the bed, rather than trying to lift the stiff heavy cushions. I shorten the top sheet, altho not necessary, and tuck the bottom under the seat cushions. I shorten a queen size bed sheet and blanket, sewed them together to make a bedspread. To protect the bedspread from our 2 small dogs, I placed another matching sheet on top. When it is time to wash the linens, I don't have to wash the bedspread/blanket each time.

I have a fulltime full/queen sized bed that has storage underneath. It's the only B that I've seen that was built that way.

Many converters have offered that option. Great West Vans still does. It has never been popular in Class B's. I've been told by dealers they mostly order to sell on spec the electric converting to bed sofa models and you'll only see double bed and fixed full bed options on pre-order (sold models). I think 10 years ago the double bed extended out to a full bed was more popular.

Maybe true, I liked it partially because of the full time bed and mostly because of the huge storage space underneath.

Very true. When we were shopping for a new Roadtrek, the only way to get the non-power bed was to order from the factory. No dealer had one even to show and few could describe what it would be like. We went by photos from owners who had one like this. The power bed/sofa is far more popular.

Question: has anyone with a Roadtrek with twin bed arrangment replaced the 5" dual density foam with memory foam? If so, how did that work out and where did you get the foam.

We use a backpackers thin foam mat with a 1" eggcrate foam from Walmart under that, both on top of the RT provided bed cushions. We bought the egg crate on a multiweek trip when both of our hips started hurting after a few nights. Never had that trouble before, but we have aged six years since we bought the RT. Like that old song said "Time changes everything".

I think you could buy a queen sized memory foam mattress material, cut it right down the middle and a little off the ends and it would fit just fine in the RT covering provided for the existing dual density foam. I just would like to hear from anyone that may have done this to see what they experienced.

I guess we're different. We tried sleeping bags, sewed two king sheets together at the bottom, and decided to go totally different.

We have Roadtrek RS with power sofa. We have a memory foam topper, topped by a king comforter (bought at walmart during first shakedown weekend). We figure we wear PJs, so don't bother with sheets. We have 2 light polartec blankets, 2 heavier polartec throws and 2 down alternative quilted blankets.

This may seem like a lot, but all are in twin size and pack very compactly. We can layer for different weather. Everything and 4 pillows fit in the compartment over the rear of the bed (but not the foam mattress topper!).

We went this way because to get in/out of bed we have to scoot down the middle to the foot of the bed. The twin sets give each our own covers allowing easier entry/exit without having to throw your blanket on your companion. Also allows individual adjustment of temperature.

This weekend we're going try a "U" shaped twin setup by leaving out the foot/table section. This will give us the lower 1/3 of the center area to allow us to sit up and put our feet on the floor to get in and out of bed. From the knees up we'll have the entire width of the bed- we'll see how it works. We checked and it still leaves room for our English Cocker.

Oh, I forgot! We also have this thing called a furnace (or electric heater if plugged in).

We looked into the replacement of the seat cushions with a 5" memory foam. What we discovered was the cost was astronomical. The inexpensive 5" memory foam were a combination of density foam and memory foam. You would need to purchase 2 or 3 separate pieces. The weight of one solid piece would be very heavy. It was more cost effective to add the 3" memory foam on top of the seat cushions. We purchased our memory foam from Kohl's when it was on sale and also had addition % off. It has made our bed very comfortable.

We owned a Chevy 2003 Roadtrek 190 Popular. We prefer using the medium bed, close size of home. We keep the bed monted all time. All meal are outside on a picnic table or inside in front, it depend of the weather
