I have the grill that came with our Roo. The brand name escapes me at present. Not RVQ (tm).
Despite the lack of respect this grill gets here it's proven itself a valuable asset to the camper despite the fact I'd have never ordered it with the trailer (and tried to delete it). We use it every camping trip. I figured it'd last as season at best. Starting her 8th. I noted there's a stainless steel version of this same grill available. I'd like one, but this one is still working well.
Ours looks like this but I hack-sawed the top rack off for better access to the grill surface;

This is the Camco stainless model that I still might buy...

Both these are intended to use the trailer's LP system with the LP hose built in but can use the small bottles and the rack allows them to be set on a picnic table as well as side mounted. As noted we use ours every trip.

We had an RVQ that came with our Starcraft 21SSO. Yes, it was small and yes, it wasn't the most powerful grill out there but we used ours all the time. It would cook steaks and anything else you put on it. It was easy to carry around and I didn't need to find a table to put it on.
To each his own but we liked ours. I now have a Webber that is a much better BBQ. It is also heavier and I have to have a place to put it and propane bottles to power it up.

most of the time a grill that close to the trailer just makes a mess of the trailer and your awning, as others have said just buy a webber Q with a stand and call it a day.

Is this your personal experience or something you heard?
Because i've owned and used the one Chuck has pictured.
It's called a Sidekick grill and i've been using it for over 5 years.
Never had grease on the side or awning.
It.s not the greatest grill but does the trick.
Just used it a month ago, camping.
Did burgers, hot dogs and shish kebobs for 10 people.

Check out the very nice stainless steel grill/oven at Gander Mountian. Looked at one about a month ago. Would have bought it if I needed one.

Yep, mine is a Sidekick. No stains on the trailer. No stains on the canopy. Not sure where this comment came from, but doesn't match my experience at all.
This is one of those items I would not have ordered but it came with the trailer. My reason for not wanting it was based on no experience with it. Now that I have experience I guess Love is too strong a word, but I'd replace it FAST is it broke down. Just too convenient. Highly recommended.
Stores in a Coleman camping utility bag under the sofa or dinette between trips. We tour mostly and buy local groceries during the day. Fresh fish or steaks go right on the grill when we get home. Very little cleanup and what cleanup there is is outdoors.
Rain? Not a problem, it's under the canopy.

Gotta agree with Chuck and bikendan on this. We used it every trip and never had issues with being too slow, making a mess or any others. It is a good size for just the 2 of us and works fine for a couple more. The only reason it's in the attic now is that we ended up replacing our vinyl awning - owner stupidity - and upgraded at no charge to the woven acrylic fabric. DH was concerned that with the more open weave as opposed to smooth vinyl, we'd have a stain over the grill area that would be hard to remove. We made the investment in a small 15" or so from Walmart that serves us well. If it weren't for the concern over the awning fabric, we'd still be using it every time. We have it safely tucked away and it may make a return at some point - we loved it.

We have the same one Chuck has pictured (I thought it was an RVQ), and we switched to the Weber Q because... Well, it's a much better grill! If the Weber would attach to the side like the one above, it would be perfect.
We did use an RVQ attached to our previous popup, and never had an issue with any staining on either the side of the camper or awning. It's really convenient to just hang the grill on the side and plug in the propane... Carrying an extra 20# propane tank is a bit of a pain. Sooner or later I'll get around to attaching an extension and fittings to attach the Weber to the on-board propane.
