We are thinking about trading our jayco 32BHDS for a Cherokee 274BH with power bunks and are wondering about the Cherokee. Does anyone have one that they are unhappy with? One they love? Why? I am worried about the quality difference on paper. I am also worried about the loss of outside storage. Is there enough on the new TT to get grills, lawns chairs, utility stuff into it?

My impresion of the ones I saw (Never owned one) are it is a mid to lower price point (less interior fluff) that was put together well (similar to the Keystone Hornet line).

Just curious but are you looking to downsize?

Anyway, I've owned a Cherokee and now own a Jayco Eagle. The Cherokee was a "base" model if there ever was on. It was a 2004 29Z Bunkhouse. I'll tell you what though, it was as dependable a trailer as there ever was.

The only reason we sold it and moved to the Jayco is to have a bunkhouse with a slide in it as our children were getting older (i.e. bigger).

This is just my pure opinion...but when we went looking for a new bunkhouse a few years ago I started by looking at the Cherokees. I was very disappointed in that I felt they just seemed to look "cheap".

Our 2004 was definitely a base model, but it didn't look cheap. It was very well built.

We had an 05 Cherokee lite 28A and now have an 07 Cherokee 32B. we really love the quality of the Cherokee line of TT`s. we looked at alot of others and nothing came close in terms of standard features/options, quality of build and price. to me these are mid-level TT`s. I`ve looked at others that I thought would fall apart if they were even used once! the only issue for any Forest River owner is the Concertone stereo/sound system. otherwise were very happy!

Some of the issues I found with various other TT`s were; bed platform that was just laying on top of the base or attached with hinges but no lift supports, no roller slides for drawers, bunks that were built very cheap, 125lb limit!, floors that felt like they put no supports under them, no tinted windows even available and various other little things that all added up to a big no!

I have a 2006 Cherokee 28A+ which I have been very happy with. The only issue that I have had is the Concertone sound system. Its pretty lousy. Everything else has held up very well.

thanks for all the good advice. Now I just need to find one near me. Both the local dealers are out of them.
