I have a 2001 Fleetwood Southwind 35R. I want to replace the factory installed reclining chair with a new Laze Boy recliner. My question is how best to remove the original chair. I thought it was like the Captain’s chair and by removing the very large center nut you could just lift it out but no go. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

You probably have four bolts on the floor hidden by the carpet(can't see picture, just guessing). Peal back the carpet, remove the four bolts, and the chair should lift right out.

Looks like the standard recliner that Fleetwood uses to me. They are just mounted on a floor ring that is secured by a clamp held down with a threaded knob. Easy to remove..... You can remove the ring from the recliner and mount it on a replacement chair if you like. Pretty easy to adapt to it.

I wanted my new rocking recliner to swivel so I did as you suggest and made a 3/4 inch plywood adapter that allowed the ring and swivel mechanism to attach to the recliner. Works great.

If you have to stop fast or get into an accident you and the passenger will be stopped by your seat belt. What is going to stop the new recliner?

OR POSSIBLY, as with mine, the bolts could go through the floor down into the cieling of one of my cargo bays. There's a nut on each bolt there underneath. Just remove the nuts (and washers), pull the bolts up through the floor and you'll be free to move the chair.
That chair looks identical to mine, although mine is black leather. They're usually made by Flexsteel.
