Going to do a little trip to the coast here in Texas during July 4th week. With more than 2 months until we leave I had a hard time finding a place with openings. I was able to get the last premium spot available at Pioneer RV resort in Port Aransas; this was the third place I called. I normally don't do summer time vacationing because it is too hot here but we wanted to spend some time with the grand kids. I knew it would be crowded but I didn't think this early all the spots would be gone.

All you good follks wanting to vacation on the Texas coast make those reservations early!

Not surprised, even with the hot temps, most popular travel destinations are booked far in advance for the summer months. We love the Texas coast, but we stay away during the hot summer months. Have fun in Port Aransas with the grandkids!!!

I don't know what it is this year, but it seems that all the state parks and COE parks we visit locally are booked up at least 2 months in advance.

Hot time for camping. Have a great trail.

I've no house in the city, just a camping tent in the wild.

We go to Gilchrist at least twice a year=no much there but ocean and fun! We like it 'cause it is off the beaten path and not crowded. My wife laughs and says it is nothing but sand and a plug but that suits us well. PM me if you'd like the name of the place we stay at.

There are two different procedures in place to reserve a campsite, lean-to, bunkhouse or cabin. In general winter reservation can begin in November and must be requested at least seven days before your camping date. Summer reservations work on a rolling reservation system. Both reservation procedures are explained in detail below.

Hate living in the house which is like a box.
So I like Tent Camping.
