I read somewhere that the Interstate batteries were made in China now, if that makes any difference to you.

Depends on the battery. Johnson Controls makes most of the 6V's and they're made in Mexico or the US I think.

If they are the green top, go with the Costco, I just bought a pair and they weigh 67 pounds which is what the interstate spec says. So they are 232 amp hours.

Could you please give me a link to that amp hour stat? Thanks. I found no markings on the battery and the Costco employee had no clue and said he had no AH stats on that 6V GC battery.

I stand corrected. I just called Interstate batteries and was told Johnson Controls does indeed make thier RV type batteries. The only thing they have made in China are the motorcycle batteries. Rep asked for my zip code ( Michigan ) and I was told batteries available here were made by Jonson Controls in Ft. Wayne In. Batteries bought in southern states are most likely made in Mexico.

I took my A/C scale to Sams Club here (Arizona) and weighed the GC2 Golf Cart Batteries offered in this area. Both are made by Johnson Controls and have the same physical dimensions. Item 1194 sells for $78.83 and weighs 63.7 Lbs. Item 263769 sells for $97.68 and weighs 66.5 Lbs. I have no idea why 2.8 pounds is worth $19 more dollars.

Thank you. Any idea which of those 6V GC batteries is the one that most or all Costco's apparently carry?

GC2-XHD is the green top Costco, it looks identical to the interstate and weighs the same. The critical test is the weight, make sure it is 67 pounds.
