Thanks for the input.
I'm really surprised that Big K hasn't stepped into the thread. He went thru all of the suggested fixes and never fixed the problem until he bought a DP.
Nothing wrong with PM that's for sure. If the hose does fix the one heating brake please post back. If everything else is serviced, then that would be the end answer. If once the hose was off could you also please do the cut apart and photo for the rest of us to see.
There's your answer... Buy a DP
Seriously, I'll post the results when I get the hoses changed.

Okay, Eric, John and Joey. Let's meet at my house tomorrow morning at 9am, and when you've helped me get this darned hose off, we'll cut it apart and post photos of it.

I was able to remove the clip at the frame rail connection point, but can't decide what has to happen next. Does it unscrew? Pull off? What?
As you might imagine, it's too rusty to tell exactly how it connects. There are two flat sides on the hose metal connector, but they don't look to be designed for using a wrench.
There is a frame cross member and other "stuff" directly behind the rail so it's difficult to see of feel back there to determine what may be required. Any help would be appreciated. lou
I can't; but you might find the help you need on the iRV2.com/forums on this link. It looks like Lt46 knows how.

Thanks, George. I saw that thread today and it gave me hope that it can be done. I'm just not sure I'm flexible enough to get my hands into those tight places, or with enough strength to get the job done.
I do plan to have the hoses in hand before I proceed, in the event I have to destroy the hose in the removal process.
Thanks again, lou

It's a deal, I'll even buy the first round.
Right now I'm on the road and can't post the picture of my '96 F53 up on jacks with all four tires off due to the calipers sticking from an emergency stop I had to do in Florida so as not to hit a couple of bikers that cut me off. That was my first year with the rig, and since then I have greased all the pins, then replaced all the calipers and also the fluid.
So needless to say, this topic is near and dear to my heart, that's why I'm asking so much.

How about one of you 96 F53 owners (hint hint Eric. GRIN) go look at a front brake hose and tell us if it looks like picture 1 or 2............Inquiring minds want to know.

I had to replace the hoses on my old 1978 Ford pickup. Even though the fitting nuts were in plain view and I have the proper line-nut wrenches, I could not get them loose. I did not want to wring them off. I heated them with a propane torch and they then removed quite easily. WARNING: have water hose ready if you try this.
Can you get to the nut with a crowfoot-linenut wrench? Not sure, but would think that Harbor Freight has them.
