I have it's older brother, the VuCube 2000. The only downside to the Tailgater, for those of us on the East Coast, is that it only works with the western arc satellites. So, especially up here in New England, the WA Sats are pretty low on the horizon, which could make it more difficult to get line of sight vs the Eastern Arc sats. If you are in FL, this may not be an issue for you. The only other caveat, is that the Tailgater will only work with the model 211k Dish receiver. On the positive side, the Tailgater is half the price of my VuCube, which I bought before the TG was released.

The Tailgater cable hooks up to the Sat in connection and works like any sat feed into the Rv to the 211 receiver. We like ours very much.

Paul, i just got the tailgater and a 211k receiver. My roof top auto sat quit working and parts are now obsolete for it. The tailgater works perfect for me.......sets up quickly. I use a chain to secure it, plop it on the ground with a southern sky view and it sets itself up very fast.
Best deal I ever made under $500 bucks!

So does the coax cable for the tailgater plug into the Satelite in outlet on the outside of the RV and you have the receiver inside?
The only pictures or videos I see show setups exclusively outside the rv (or truck) with the coax running from receiver to TG. I know the coax carries the power to the TG. Dont know if the power will go through the RV internal wiring?

I have a 150ft run that I use at home. It has worked fine for me, YMMV.

Not to hijack the thread, but a quick question.
Mine should arrive tomorrow.
Know it comes with 50' of RG6.
How long of a run can you use before you start seeing issues.
I'm pretty sure I want to pick up 50' more.

The Tailgater doesn't require electricity to operate. Just the coax from your Tailgater to your satellite hook-up. We bought one last August right after they came our (ours don't even have the logo on it). We like it just fine. Easy to use, and like the previous poster, we chain it down, so it can't be stolen easily.
