Hi: We are looking at getting a Good sam membership for road side service. I would like to know if many of you have it up here and have used it to get a tow ect. Were you able to get service in remote locations.
Thanks
Mike

Have it and made 1 call for help. No problem getting assistance.

FWIW -- local tow truck operators contract to CAA, Good Sam and all the rest -- whoever makes the call, they pay the bill.

I have Good Sam Road service and have used it in Canada. What Dream Chased said is important enough to repeat IMHO. If you call the tow truck you will be the one paying for the tow. Call the Good Sam and let them call the tow company and they will pay directly. There are a few exceptions which are covered in the policy a subscriber will receive from GS. I was reimbursed last summer when I got stuck in soft soil. We were not in cell service range so the tow was called for by a RCMP officer. When I got home I filed a request with GS for reimbursement and they sent me a check for the full cost.

We have used it several times now, but only in the Greater Edmonton area so I can't comment on outlying areas; however, they use the local tow trucks, same ones CAA uses, so it should be the same availability.

Two calls for assistance, one towing and one not. NO ISSUES. Just re signed for 3 years.

Although you are calling a remote call center they dispatch "local" to your location services.
