Wal-Mart is never cheaper when you consider how much of a taxpayer subsidy they get for their stores and not paying workers a living wage or providing most of them with medical coverage and putting local business owners out of business who actually spend their income in the community instead of sending the money back to Bentonville.

I have no idea what WM pays their employees, but I'm pretty sure those that do choose to work there (and at lest have a job) spend their money locally and do not send it to Bentonville......

I guess elkhornsun doesn't like WM.....I personally love to use them at home to save a few bucks and especially when out in the RV.....one stop shopping, I know pretty much where everything is, I can often get fuel there, I can have all my prescriptions filled at any WM, get our groceries there, have our glasses repaired, grab a quick bite to eat, etc., etc.

You are so right, we always use Wal-Mart, and it makes it nice to find what we need out on the road, all in one store. I don't understand the people that don't like Wal-Mart.

The DW even had her hair cut once on a long RV trip at a Super-Walmart!

.... but for the life of me I can't figure out what this has to do with "Sun covers for tires".

I cut a piece of plywood to fit in the wheel well on the exposed side of my fiver. Cost = $0, and will last for ever. Straight Edge rests on the ground and is wedged up under the fender skirt.

I made our wheel/tire covers, very similar to THESE. (scroll down to bottom of the page). Much easier to install than individual tire covers and you do not have to get dirty putting them on or taking them off.

Hi All.

Not using your TV's Tires is the worst thing there is for them. Well, you just met your first RV'er who covers his RV's tires every day after traveling.

We always arrive before dark, so I cover the tires, Period. We have been RV'ers for a little over 45+ years now. And we have never had a "Flat Tire" or a "Blow-Out" or have ever "Broken-Down".

Covering your tires is for sure a lot better for your tires than not covering them. FYI, if you check, I think you will find almost any size Good Quality Tire Covers at Amazon.com, are about the cheapest, and most of the time, the very same Brand you will buy at Camping World or other RV Places.

And usually they have Free Shipping. Just makes sure of your tire size when you order. I always go up one ot two sizes larger than our tires, as it makes it much easier to put the Tire Cover On/Off.

In the past 45+ years as RV'ers, we have also never had any crack, or any tire seperations in any of our tires.

Take Good Care of yoour Tires, and your Tires will take good care of you.

Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill

So, based on your self proclaimed success story, and given that most folks have to change out their tires anywhere from 7 to 10 years, I would be willing to bet that you get WAY more than 10 years of life. I would be willing to bet that you get AT LEAST 15 years of life out of your tires, AT LEAST!!! Am I right? Did I win that bet???

Hi All.

Sorry Larry, but you lose the Bet. I always have changed out our RV Tires (TT & 5ers) between 6 and 7 years "Max", and more so at 6 years. Now, I can't answer this question on our Motorhome, as I haven't had this issues as yet. When we bought our Motorhome, the Tires on it were already 6 years old and showed signs of cracks on the side walls. So I went though our Motorhome and replaced all Belts & Hoses & all Fluids, and all 7 New Tires. While we were at it, we also did an "Inside Make-Over" and we up-graded the OEM Converter/Charger, New U2200 6 Volt Battries, Installed two New Fantastic Fans and also replaced both of the OEM CRT TV's to LEDs. We also replaced every Light Bulb in our Motorhome, including the Storge Compartments with all 36 LED Light Boards with the BA15 Bases.

So basically, I went completely though our Motorhome, from Bumper to Bumper, and also checked all Systems and did all improvments when we did our "Inside Make Over".

We will just have to see how the Tires works out, as to when they will be changed. Two things we never go Cheap on, is our Tires and Brakes.

We also weight all of our RV's from time to time, and check Tire Pressure, every singal day we move any RV, Period. Just as we cover our Tires daily while traveling.

Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill

Geez, ask a simple question and HOLY COW!

I purchased these Camco covers to protect the tires and alloy wheels from sun and DIRT. Don't like the mess from rain hitting the dirt and splashing the mud onto both.

OK, now that's a reason I can believe in!
