Much to my amazement,I saw a Born Free with a SLIDE.....whats this RV world coming to??They swore for years that you would never see a slide in any of their coaches, because it would diminish the body integrity...how long has this been going on?
One of their selling points was the 3 roll-over cages built into their coach body. No one has ever been killed in an accident with a Born Free. Difficult to make a slide work using the steel cage design. Seeing their factory is something else. There is a single crew that builds the entire RV from start to finish - they put there reputation on the complete unit.

Have you checked the price of a "B"???? I own a BF and love it...in over 50000 miles I have only had to put tires on it because of year and dry rot. Does not squeeeek or rattle....

Born Free and Lazy Daze are both quality builts where the workmen still build them with pride and prejudice for outstanding quality first, and corporate profit targets second --- and both companies are privately owned by the founders or their immediate descendents (I think still true).
I just picked up my new to me 08 Born Free on Thursday and drove 800 miles
back to Florida.
I'm very impressed with the quality and hope to have many trouble free
years ahead of me.
If you decide to purchase a Born Free I recommend looking for a used one
which brings the cost down to a more tolerable quality vs price point.
Born Free had a major manufacturing upgrade in 2008.
