Looking for a simple fix for broken ear tabs on the tank drain hook-up. The 2 little nubs were broken when I bought it a few years ago, now I am finally going to fix it. Any ideas on where to find a slip fitting or something of the sort. Bob

I'm assuming that you're talking about the nubs that the sewer hose attaches to when you're ready to dump the tanks? If that's the case, I'd first measure the opening on the sewer hose hooks. Then try to find a piece of metal tubing with the same OD as the opening on the hose hooks. Cut a couple of 1" long pieces. Then get a couple of bolts that match the inside diameter of the tubes and run a bolt thru each one. Drill a couple of holes in the sewer outlet the size of the bolts, stick them thru the holes and add a nut and lock washer on the end of the bolts. Fasten the hose on the new nubs, pull the handle and pray!
The consequences of this NOT working would make me take it to a shop and have them replace that portion of the sewer outlet to begin with. Or at least train a pet monkey to run in there and close the handle.  Take pictures.

I wonder if a portion of a new fitting that has the ears might not glue inside what is left of the broken one. I think common PVC black pipe glue should work if the new piece is a lucky slip-fit.
I don't blame you for avoiding major replacement, but the assembly must easily come apart from the slide valve outward. This would be the proper repair with all new parts.

Just bite the bullet and replace it. This is a situation that if your Micky-Mouse fix fails, your gonna really regret it.

Just buy a Valterra Bladex Valve with metal handle. They make replacements. They bolt on or glue on - which ever. Visit a RV store!!! Simple fix and you don't need to worry about a spill!!!

Maybe drill holes and put in a short stainless steel bolt each side?

I like the short stainless bolt on each side idea. Use a washer too to help spread the load on the plastic.

It is really just to easy to cut the old one off and replace it and do it the right… the part is all of $3, and they don‘t go bad or get broken very often…..
