Hi, We are planning a trip this summer and will be travelling from West Yellowstone to GNP. We would like to break the drive up and leave yellowstone in the afternoon and boondock on our way to GNP. We are not familiar with area. Could someone recommend a few places to pull over for the night? Thanks for your help!

There are some nice USFS cg west of Anaconda, MT. if you are headed to the west entrance of GNP.

We will be going up route 191 to 90, then onto 287, then 15, and finally 2. This is what looks like the best route to us but Yahoo is telling us to just go up 287 to 89, which runs into 2. We are concerned the Yahoo route may be difficult with pulling a large trailer. We would love to hear from anybody with experience on this Yahoo route. Thank you.

If you can give us the route you will use, there might be some places that we can shed some light on.

Thanks for the reply! I guess I should have indicated that we will be going to the east part of GNP. Also trying to find something about 2-3 hours outside of St. Marys coming from West Yellowstone.

I've stayed overnight at the Helena Walmart a couple times.
