I have a couple questions for those who have used the E2 or 4 Point WD from Progress.
1. When setting up the hitch to not only get proper height and WD it may require using the lifting tool to get the bars onto the L brackets.
What is your method of removing the bar from the L bracket?
My premeasurements were
Unloaded
FR 38"
R 39.5
Loaded without WD
R 38 3/16"
Loaded with WD
FR 38"
R 39 1/8
According to the manual this is in the range required.
Any experiances with the E2 or things to watch out for?
Side wind or trucks?
Rutted freeway?

I just recently installed an Equalizer Hitch w/4pt sway control to tow an enclosed car trailer behind my MH. First tow was about 1000 miles with no problems whatsoever. Strong crosswinds or tight maneuvering were not a problem. I haven't had to use the lifting tool at all to install or remove the WD bars. Using the jack stand to raise the hitch up fairly high seems to take most of the load off the WD bars so you can pretty easily slide them on or slide them off. Note: the jack stand by itself is not sufficiently long to raise the hitch high enough to take the load off the bars. Most people seem just put a few blocks of wood underneath the jack to give it the extra height. I bought a very handy device that seems to work very well. It is red plastic about 18 inches tall and kind of looks like a traffic cone. You just put it under the jack stand and crank it up. Its strong enough to handle quite a bit of tongue weight. I like it cause its very light and stores easily. Good luck with your hitch.

I've never use that hook up tool. I use the tongue jack. 7years and two different TTs this method has never failed me and not useing tool means one less thing I need to carry and worry about loseing.

Hook up your trailer and then raise the trailer/truck combination with the tongue jack until you can put the bars on. The higher you raise it the easier it is to put on or take off the bars.
I think that sdbounderdiesel is talking about one of these. I use one also and it works great!
