I'm trying to get someone that will price a 3582RL Big Sky that comes in under the price of a Landmark Key Largo. I'm afraid by the time you add up all the options to come close to the features of a Landmark it will be over by 5 grand at least. For 65 grand I would expect something bigger than a 19" TV in the bedroom

The bedroom tv is 12 volt. It can be used without generator. It is small but dry camping I don't have to run Gen before bed time! Bracket will hold larger TV. I did ask the same question but like the 12 volt option! A bigger LCD LED tv is pretty cheap now days! Also units without the outside entertainment option, have hookups for that TV in outside storage area, so you can take it outside!

Thats actually a pretty cool feature - I didn't know the new ones were 12V.

""Couple comments: My Montana's lights come on when I open the door, otherwise the switches are inside on wall well within reach. Bathroom switches are next to vanity where I would expect them to be. When I set up I turn on water pump and leave it on. Is there a reason I should need to turn on water pump each time I use it? ""

2012's may be different or it may be the Hickory Pkg, but on mine no lights come on when I open the door. I have to go into the trailer and into the hall where the bathroom is to turn on any lights inside or out. Not fun stumbling up the stairs and fumbling around in the dark feeling for the switchs if it is a very dark campground and I forgot to leave a light on. And the bathroom on mine and ones I have been in, the bathroom light and the switch for the pump is at the steps in the hall. So when you get up in the middle of the night you have to remember to turn them on before you open the door to the bathroom or it covers them up. And the pump is nice to have a switch by the sink in the kitchen so if you stop and need a little water you can turn it on while at the sink and not have to walk to the front of the trailer to turn it on. Yours and some Montana's may have switch's where you want them and need them, but the OP has to be aware that they may not be where he needs them on all Montana's. We won't discuss the fact that on rear kitchen Montana's you can not get to much less open the frig unless you extend the main slide. Which brings up another little nuisance, there is only 1 switch that operates both the bedroom and the main slide. So if you stop and want to extend the main slide so you can get into the kitchen you must also extend the bedroom slide before the main will go out. Not a big pain but a pain much the less. It is just little PITA's that should have been thought out by a good RV design team. Not sure what Keystone was thinking when they designed my Montana. But just be aware that once you buy there are things that you will want to change on some trailers espcially if you will be full timing in it.

I hear you and understand your frustration. My statements and info I have learned from Montana owners demonstrates Keystone listens and acts. They and other manufactures are not designing in a vacuum. Example all 5 slides on my Montana and I believe all models have ability to own one slide at a time. Your imput is valuable and I think all Montana's are getting these features I mentioned. Excuse me for asking again but why not leave water pump on while hooked up? One last thought, we have "in expensive LED" motion activated night lights near doors and bathrooms . Simple item that might solve your problem at night!

When I am camping and I need the water pump I turn it on and it stays on until I leave that camp ground. I am not sure why you want to turn it on and off all the time-maybe it it is time for a new battery? Steelpony-I see in your signature you have a 06 rig-things change over time to these rigs because of suggestions just like yours. I believe new Montana's have motion detector lights on the exterior. I am not sure how long they have been putting them on.

I had a 2003 Montana and loved it but there were some things I would change. I have a 2007 Montana and love it but there are some things I would change. I can tell you more things wrong with your 2006 that were changed in later years - (hiccup - axles - hiccup).

I added remote control entry lights, a separately switched bathroom light and a whole list of other things to improve mine, and the DW would not have let me buy it if we couldn't get to the fridge with the slides in. (for some reason that was her highest requirement - I would have been OK opening the slide)

I will compliment Keystone in that the "suggestion button" on the website that they ran for several years got you an actual response from the design team and a disposition on whether your suggestion would be incorporated. I loved that. Out of six suggestions, four of mine were incorporated and I was given reasons why the other two could not be.

They change twice a year with new designs and features, and at some point I will decide a new one will be easier than trying to catch up. Happened once already and it will happen again.

"Excuse me for asking again but why not leave water pump on while hooked up"

When I mean is like pulling into a rest area. But I usually do not leave my pump switch on when we are boondocking either. I do know they have changed somethings but it is frustrating with the kind of money you pay for one of these to have to "remodel". With my 03 Alpenlite I cannot think of anything I would have changed, heck it even came from the factory with LT tires on it lol lol... I only hope Keystone grabbed a few of the employees from Western when they went out of business lol lol... But like I said I still love the Montana.

Maybe the reason for not needing to change anything on your alpenlite was the orginial owners of WRV would go camping in their products to see how it was to use what they made. We stopped at the factory one saturday in 1998 to look around. It was closed but a couple of alpenlite owners were in the over night waiting for some work to be done on Monday. A lady was washing windoes on a fifthwheel and then went to the office windows and started washing them. I asked her if she worked here. Yes I do because I own this place so this was their way to learn what was good or not so good. I don't think the newest owners ever saw a trailer.
