I have seen it where I got the the campground and they had ONLY ONE SITE OPEN. However, it was a good site, I liked it and in fact spend many days on it during later visits. Hope to get it again when next I park there.

I have never been to the Orlando parks, but at the other parks they do not overbook. They will put you on a waiting list, but they do not over book.

I in a TT park as I type this.

One caution, sort of.. If you use Park WI-Fi, at TT parks it is normally only in or very near the Wi-Fi center, (or family center or park office) and, it is normally Verizon 2-way Satellite internet.

If you are considering Hughes net (2-way sat) service is .. Not much different, So it is a good way to try before you buy. But if you have never used 2-way Sat it can be a bit.. er.. frustrating.

Which TT park are you going to be in?

If you have a reservation, you will get a spot. Not an assigned spot. You get to choose. (differs in some) Arrive just a bit before 12. sometimes times there's people checking in. sometimes not. Just pull up to the Ranger Station and check in. Fairly easy. We've been members of 1000 Trails for 10 yrs. We've been been using the 1000 Trails on the West Coast for years. We'll be taking off next week for the summer along the Oregon/Washington Coast. Some of those areas are very popular but with reservations we never have problems getting a spot. For the last 8 years, with reservations, we've always gotten a spot.

Let us know what preserve you're visiting and what you liked or didn't like about it. Since your a non member and not buying a membership, I'd be interested to hear about your experience.

Our problem with TT is that although they might have spaces, most of the good ones are taken by seasonal rentals. We let the membership expire.

In all our years of using TT we have never had a problem getting a site. They can only rent out a percentage of their sites per night and always have to have a parking spot for any member who shows up. The reservation system really helps them know what to expect.

One other thing..... Thousand trails has a 2-tier pricing policy for any person who comes in, Basic id 30 amp, as a member that's free for me for up to 2 weeks at a time. 50 amp they charge more for. Don't matter if yours is a 30 or 50 amp rig, they charge more for it.

Not the case for all members. TT has (like other membership campgrounds) different membership plans. I can stay free in either 30 or 50 amp for three weeks at a time. Take Palm Springs for instance, any membership can stay in either 30 or 50 amp sites without any extra fees at all. But another park it may be as you stated. Everything is a definite maybe

We are going to a Thousand trails park Memorial day weekend. We are traveling with people with a membership. The campground says we have a reservation, but the site is first come first serve. The check in time is 12:00pm. I am confussed if we have a reservation are we guarenteed a spot or can we loose out. Do all the members line up at 12:00 or can you come early.

Ken

In most campgrounds, the reservation guarantees you that you have a spot in their campground to stay. What is not guaranteed is exactly where in the campground will you be staying. There were times in the past when we would go camping with our friends that we would be put in sites that are far from each other (sometimes on opposite ends of the campgrounds).

As for the check-in time, we try whenever we can to come early. That way we can scope the campground for a site that we would want to stay and cross our fingers that we get the spot that we want.

Its a membership campground. Pay a fee. Yearly dues and become a member. One of many membership camp grounds. Some rv'ers like them, some don't. Take a look at the web site. It lists some info for 1000 trails.

Its been great for us.
