We have enjoyed Georgia State Parks for many years. Site specific reservations are not needed although we would love to see all the parks go back to a color system of site sizes. My favorites are Cloudland Canyon, Red Top Mountain, and FDR. I don't care for Vogel's cluster camping with a "large rig", and difficult to maneuver road.

And don't miss the Dillard House - beautiful old restaurant with great views, family-style meals. Wonderful area, year-round.

That is North Carolina not Tenn. And you are soooo right, beautiful view of the falls and a short trip to Highlands and some really nice river, falls and rapids
I was at Stephen Foster State Park in February. We had a great time! It was pouring rain and dark when we arrived so the mosquitoes were really stirred up. They were not a problem the rest of the weekend. It looks like the trees are still recovering from the Fires last year. The ranger said +/- 90% of the Okefenokee was burnt last year.
