We took our new (2003)18t6 TT out for it's maiden voyage. we noticed that when the water pump is turned on water spews from the inlet for the city water hookup. any suggestions? we did not have a hose hooked up to it. the previous owners says that they did not have this problem but I think they had it parked for a while.
You need to replace or reseat the check valve outside the TT...Take out the debris screen...poke a nail or something in the check valve and try to reseat it...

I just bought a plastic plug to screw into the hose connection. No further problem.
Yes, the check valve has gone bad. But, the plastic garden hose plug is a LOT cheaper than a new valve, and MUCH easier to install, and works just fine.

He won't know if the valve is bad unless he tries to reseat it...I had this issue when I poked the valve to winterize it...I poked it to reseat it and it works fine.
easy fix like mowermech said if the valve is bad garden hose end cap
We had a inlet water hose go bad. RV stores wanted $34 for the small hose with connectors on each end. Went to Lowes they had the same hose with connectors for $9. Some think because they have a trailer the parts are unique. Maybe some are specific to their trailer but not all, plumbing is plumbing. Good luck on the fix
Me gonna go out and pickup a few of these for the PLAN B toolbox...
Of course if you stop this leak up you will have to get ahold of the AFLAc duck to stop all of the other leaks that will magically start up from the floor.

No, not a female CAP, a male PLUG!
The water inlet fitting on my RVs have all been female garden hose fittings, it takes a plug to seal them, and, yes, it keeps the dirt out of the drinking water connection (a GOOD thing!).
If water is "spewing" from the fitting when the pump is on, the check valve is not seating. Maybe it will reseat, maybe it won't. The plug is a permanent solution to the problem.
Instead of a plug, I used a garden hose inline shutoff, worked great.
