I've been looking for posts of Ford, Chevy and Dodge owners about emission problems. My reason is this: do all manufactures have the same problems or things just happen and because I just had a failure or clogged DPF and EGR on My 08 6.7L 3500 at 31k miles all of the driving is interstate (most of it) is there a common thread in the big three. Any takers on this question?

Yours should have fallin off by now  Especially since your's has the conversion already.

What he's saying is that you can remove the emissions equipment using kits that are available (at your own risk, of course. It's technically illegal). I'm constantly tempted to "lose" the stuff in my 07.5 Dodge RAM but the legality issue holds me back. Anyway, I'm not having much problem with the emissions now. A few years ago it was a different story but since the J35 recall all's been fairly good lately.

They all have emissions problems some more than others, take a look at cumminsforum.com you're not the only one with problems. My 2010 has been free of emission problems just gets **** fuel mileage due to regens.

All manufacturers may have an emissions failure at one time or another - but not all trucks will have a failure. My 09 has been flawless. Regen when towing is undetectible. The 07.5 - 2010 gm trucks seem to have the fewest issues, there were problems when def was added in 2011 but that seems to be corrected now. Emissions is another system that can fail but for me I value the no diesel smell so I'm alright with it because I view it as a desirable feature (crazy huh?). Rolling coal trucks I find very offensive.

Both of our 6.7L Cummins (one Dodge, one Sterling) have chronic emissions-related issues. Some just a nuisance (frequent check engine lights, periodic loss of power), some are more than a nuisance (7-MPG average and excess fuel in the engine oil)
Ford kind of learned about EGR problems the hard way on the 6.0 PSD. But, the 6.4L PSD also gets terrible fuel economy.
ALL of the new diesels require much more diligent maintenance. Topping of your antifreeze with standard green stuff can land you with a cracked EGR cooler. This was a common cause for blown head gaskets on the Ford 6.0, and increasingly seems to crop up on the Cummins 6.7L.
So.... stick with OEM specs on everything.
As for letting your emissions equipment fall off.... Be sure you understand all the potential consequences of that. This could result in a cancellation of the warranty (YES, that is a written term within the warranty contract), to potential EPA fines, which can be steep if you are a business owner, as these fines are based on business revenues. Private owners probably won't face fines, but you could face an inability to register the vehicle in an emissions-check area.
