I have an AF1140. The batteries pretty much take up all the free space in the battery compartment. I am in the process of installing a Morningstar 300W Inverter. A 100 Amp Fuse is required within 12" of the positive battery cable terminal and I'm at a loss to figure out where to put it. The fuse is a rather large set up. I checked Mello Mike's install but he was able to use a vacant generator compartment. Anyone out there have a similar experience that can help me?
I have very little room in my battery compartment too...
I chose to use "Mega fuses" which are a little bit more compact than the Class-T fuse shown in your photo. Mine are mounted right next to each positive battery terminal.
Cheers,

A 100 amp fuse seems rather large for a 300 watt inverter. Even at almost twice that load a 50 amp would probably be OK. It should be sized adequate for the load and inefficiencies of the inverter and for the wire size between the batteries and the inverter.

Actually, that fuse is next to the battery compartment on the inside of the camper, not in the generator compartment with the inverter. Do you have room on the inside next to your battery compartment to mount your fuse?

100 amps is what the installation manual calls for. The size is based upon a surge of 600 watts which is what the inverter can produce.

Fuses are used to protect wires, not inverters...
As long as JR3316 is following MorningStar's recommended spec' of "6ga or larger" the 100A fuse is an appropriate choice.
True, but a fuse that is larger than the device needs but smaller than the wire can carry is just fine. You just don't want a fuse that is larger than the wire's rating.
I mounted mine on the side wall of the battery box, above the batteries. The 100 amp fuse is whatis called for in the installation instructions of the morningstar. I just went on a trip where we used ours for the first time. We powered our 21" LCD TV, Mac Mini, IPhone charger and the baby monitor. Wonderful addition to the TC. Here is a link to my thread. My pics are at the end. Good luck and PM me if you have questions. I asked MelloMike a few during my install.

Cool, Disco. I'm glad you like it and I was able to help.
