Anyone have a 2008 Thor Vortex Toyhauler with a 100gal fresh water holding tank?
We have a 21fk very small toyhauler, but our fresh water tank seems to develope a crack right where the baffle is in one of the corners by the drain end of the tank.....no, we dont travel with water in it and no, we drain it completely for winter. Living here in Tucson, AZ we really dont have a freezing problem anyhow...
Thank god we got the first one replaced under warranty, the second one we just replaced last month under our extended warranty.
It really seems to be a defect, just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue...the dealer where I bought it and have it repaired wont do any customizing....they said it would void the warranty!

It must be flexing that eventually it cracks. Anyway you could put ratchet straps around it or something like that , that is not so invasive on the warranty? Ours is tied down and secured that way. 100 gals is almost 1000# in weight!

Very odd to have 3 go bad. I can't say I've read about that problem with other Vortex owners.

I have a 2009 284SA. Mine has 2 tanks instead of one. Maybe the reason they switched to 2 is because of the single large tank cracking. I believe they are 55 gal. ea.

Hi,

Probably yankee gallons so 8.35 or 835 lbs for 100 gallons--plus the weight of the tank itself.

You need to find an exact trailer like yours.Same problem, over and over, and nobody else having this problem? Sounds like they forget a cross brace, welded the frame for the tank wrong or something like this. They put a cross brace 1 inch off and your hanging the tank on its edge, not bracing it where its strong.Take measurments, and call tank manu, and see if the support is done correctly..Good luck with your answers.
