We got a Ultra Fab 3000 lb tongue jack for almost nothing at a camping world grand opening yesterday. Does anyone know how well it works or how easy it is to install? We weren't planning on buying it so we didn't measure our tongue jack diameter but are hoping it fits. It says it fits most 2" and 2 1/4" trailers. Our TT is a Zinger ZT26BL (30ft long) has a GVW of 7700 lbs (actual loaded weight approx 7000 lbs) and we estimated the tongue weight to be about 1000 lbs. I am totally guessing this will fit and is ok for the weight. Any advice on install is appreciated. DH thinks he will hook the TT to the TV while he switches it out. I have a 1 ton floor jack but he thinks the TV is better. I told him to chock the TV as well as the TT during this mod. Thanks

Ours works quite well.. Have had it for about 7 years now. Simple to install.
I have 2 #5000 BAL stabilizer jacks up front, so I simply lowered them and raised up the old crank jack and unbolted the 3 bolts holding it on. Slipped in the new one and put the bolts back on. I think I had to put the ground wire under one of the bolts. Make sure you scrape off the paint directly under it.
I routed the POS wire and put on a round end thingy to attach to the battery. I just put it on the same + post as the trailer + wire.
Powered it on and it lifts the truck and trailer with ease. It's not the quietest of things however... Glad I have not had to use it in either a late night arrival or a real early morning exit! 
You will want to pull the top cover over the gear assembly and give it some fresh grease at least once a year. I do cover mine when not in use, as the first time I pulled the gear cover off, I found where water had gotten in.. No big deal, as I just put some fresh grease in there and sealed it back up.
I've not had to use the "emergency" hand crank to date (knock on wood), but I make sure I carry it!
If you don't have strong enough jacks, the TV hitch is probably best, or some automotive jack stands would work too.

So DH is looking at the jack and sees only one long wire. They did put some sort of short red wire in the bag but he has not yet figured out what that is or where it goes. I can see this supposedly easy mod going to the dogs soon.

The one long wire goes to the positive post on the battery. The ground is the bolts that fasten the jack to the TT. The some sort of red wire has some sort of purpose ??? There should be instruction is the box that it came in.

The wire goes to your battery positive post. That's the only connection since the bolts that secure the jack provide the ground.

Humm.. As I recall (it has been 7 years! ) a black wire runs down the main shaft and is what get placed under one of the bolts. The red wire would be to the + battery post, but I don't recall that it was not already attached? It does have an in-line fuse connector.. It could be the one end of that?

Well, if you can hold on until I get home (couple more hours), I can take a pic and show you how mine is setup. I have the same exact model of jack, so I would think they would be the same, even after 7 years?

Ok thanks. No rush, we aren't actually installing until sunday. He just had it out of the box looking at it today. He is very fond of not having to crank the tongue jack anymore you know.

Is there a fuse holder built into that short piece of red wire?
The one long wire goes to positive battery post, and, it should have an inline fuse.
As others have stated, the unit is grounded when bolted on to the TT frame.
