My electric jack does not have a connection directly to the battery at all. I have 1 red wire with built in fuse coming off the jack and connected via wire connector to another red wire that runs to some sort of junction box. I guess this just keeps a lot of wires from being hooked up directly to the battery.

Just a note about removing paint for this mod. If you do file out the hole, use spray paint to cover the frame's bare metal before installing the jack. If you scrape paint away for the proper ground connection, once you have bolted the jack to the frame, use the spray paint to cover any exposed bare metal.
All of that bare frame metal will oxidize (rust) if not recovered, painted.

According to the manual (mine is a little more detailed than the PDF link I posted) you don't need to scrape away any paint for a proper ground. That's why you put the serrated lock washers between the jack plate and tongue. They will bite through the paint when you tighten down the bolts.

He will tell you all about them, this is how we work with each other. He was offered to join a long time ago, he wants nothing to do with joining, just me to find the info for him. He picks on me every bit as much as I pick on him. I know I sound harsh with him but in reality we are very honest about and with each other. He knows how I feel and I know how he feels. All is good.

Here you go anaro if you still are needing a visual..
It was pouring rain when I got home last night and didn't let up, so I got these this morning.
Here is what the wiring part looks like. It's just as you surmised earlier and just how mine was when I got it setup.
I have the connector taped up, but it's just a crimp type of connector with a round 'eye' on it that I attach directly to the + battery post along with the one for the trailer itself.

Here is how it's attached to the trailer. When I said before that there was a ground wire attached to the bolts, I was wrong.. Notice the washers on top. They 'dig' into the metal enough to establish ground thru the jack itself.

Here is the cover I use. It's the same breathable material that the RV cover is made of and keeps it pretty dry, yet does not hold any moisture. It came with my RV cover, but I don't remember what it was for??

Anyway, I hope it all goes smooth on the install this weekend!

Now that would be something! It did come with a bag for the entire cover too, but it's never been back in it! Figured I could use it if I needed any patch material for the cover.. So far it's been good!

This thread has been very helpful, I'll be doing the same mod as Anaro on the same day too! Barker 3500, but everything looks nearly identical.
