A long time ago, like 4-5 yrs ago, someone posted a picture of their modification for their cats. It was like a little room attached to the side of the rig at the window....the cats could go in and out at will. At the time I didn't need the idea but it stuck with me. Now we'd like to do something similar and I can't find anything on it. Does anyone here have anything like that????? Willing to share????

I don't know about anything home-made, but you can buy such things. I've seen pics in catalogs but don't remember which ones!! I expect you can find them by googling, tho.

The best one that I remember was a passway to basement storage and custom screens on both sides of the basement. Purrrfect kitty townhouse. When parked, the basement doors could be left open, and the upstairs passage could be closed, too.
Sorry, I do not know how to find it now.

Here is a very old thread and I think is the one referenced above. The links to the pictures in it are no longer working but you might be able to e-mail the author for more information. I don't recognize the user name so they may no longer be active on the forum so a PM wouldn't work but an e-mail might.
Cat House thread.
I see that the dad mentioned in the thread posted last year about this time so he might still be around. Toot MC

I went hunting for that story, and I believe I found it. Not the custom DIY version, but the modification to a Marathon coach - Carolyn and Cub Clinger's custom kitty condo.
In 2007, HGTV did a video on Motor Mansions

QUOTE CAPTION: Kitty Condo to Go
Creators of custom RVs often get unusual requests, but one particularly unusual one is that of Carolyn and Cub Clinger: a kitty condo. The Clingers wanted to be able to travel comfortably with their six cats on a bus, so the designers at Marathon created a special compartment just for their six cats — Miss Kitty, Miss Molly, Macho, Prince, Tory and Skitters — that features a ramp and door for them to enter and exit the main areas of the bus, a special drinking area with a reverse-osmosis filter (hooked up to the purified water system) and, of course, a private place to hide for the kitties to do their business.

I think this may be what you have in mind. It is a collapsible cat cage that can be attached to the outside of your RV's window to allow the cat to sit outside the window in the fresh air.

A couple of years ago, we saw a TC on a trailer bed with an attached wire cage on the rear. That was some pampered cat. It was big enough for a wild animal. Their kitty sure enjoyed his tree and watching the birds and bugs near the Lake.

Perfect! The only bad part is that given the size of our feline we would have to level the rig after we hang the cat off the side! Lol

Fats is well off enough to hire a stand-in for the photoshoot. Both cats like the fully insulated and electrified catstead, choosing it over their other custom built lake home digs.
