We plan on visiting Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park this Sept. We're looking for a great RV Park for our TT with full hookups. Anybody have a recommendation? Thanks for the help.

Spruce Lake, Mary's Lake and KOA, done 'em all, and all fairly similar. Very nice Jellystone, south of town a couple miles, that is a blast, well, a pricey blast.

It's Elk Meadows and we've stayed there 3 times, but not since 2007. It's pricey and not that great, but it's location is right. Just about 1/2 mile from RMNP and close to town. It's kind of hilly, dirt pads, stick tights everywhere. The last I checked it was running close to $50/nite. There's really not very many rv parks there. The KOA is next to a horse stable and has very tight turns. You couldn't get in there very easily with a long rv.

I hesitated before responding because you said you were looking for "a great RV park." Fort Wilderness at Disney World is a great rv park, but I don't think there is anything like it in Estes Park, Colorado. I guess it depends on your definition. We enjoyed Spruce Lake RV Park, but it could have used some more grass and trees. There were a lot of nice things about it and it was very close to the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. We really liked the town of Estes Park.

We stayed at Oak Meadows twice. Both times we enjoyed our stay. Last time was a few years ago, but if and when we return I would stay there again.

We stayed at the KOA in a 31' Class A. It was "OK" best in the area that we saw.

We stayed at Jellystone. Since we have a truck camper, we were able to fit in a nice site, but the bigger rigs were lined up in a open area. Not as much to do as other Jellystones we've stayed in, but we didn't spend a lot of time in the campground.

Lived in Estes 1995-2003 and been back three times. Elk Meadows used to be great and now in the so so category - and expensive. But it, and Spruce Lake, are the best in town; there are no great rv parks in Estes anymore IMHO. We will be going thru this summer and staying at Riverview on west end of Loveland; just before the climb up the "hill" on Hwy 34 to get to Estes.

LOVE RMNP!
