My neighbor, a single woman, new to RVing has bought a (2005?)RockWood Premier 2816G pop Up trailer. It needs new tires. The original ones side wall shows Load Range 'C' at Max. capacity of 1350 Lbs., Total capacity of about 2700 lbs. She weighed the trailer at a Certified Scale at local truck stop and printout shows just over 3600 lbs empty! Can this possible be correct? Would the manufacturer Overload the original tires by 900 lbs? Is there a plaque or label somewher in/on the trailer that would show weight?

If you could have her look at the current models at Forest River PopUps and find the current model that is as close as possible to her trailer.
That way we can see what's going on with tires and weights.

Yes, there should be one inside the PUP somewhere, usually behind a cabinet door. That does baffle me as to how the trailer is 900 lbs. over the tires' weight capacity, and the manufacturer not have addressed that.

I can't find a 2816G for that year. Could it be a 2316G instead?

That being the case, GVWR is 3,046 lbs. Dry/base weight is 1,620 lbs. That, of course, does not include the add-ons, but good grief. How do you get to 3,600 lbs. empty? That's more than double the base weight. You factor in a few hundred pounds of A/C and whatever else you stuff onto it, but 2,000 pounds of add-ons does NOT make sense.
They specify 12" tires for it.

Specifications for 2005 Rockwood models.

I just can't find any reference, anywhere, on that specific model.

This is the tire specfifications on my Startcraft 14RT OFF-ROAD POPUP.

My trailer is rated at 4000LBS GVWR and the tires are LT235/75R15C

This is LOAD RANGE C tires... I also see 5200LBS listed on the POPUP sticker.

Any rate this is what is specified on my 2008 Starcraft 14RT model.. I went with same size when I replaced them last year with BFGs tires.

My Posts are IMHO based on my experiences - PM me
