My vent cover was brittle and it kind of shattered when I accidentally stepped on it while on my roof. I am wondering if I need to cut away the caulking and replace the whole metal frame or if there is a way to simply replace the plastic cover. The cover appears to be rivited to the metal frame, which means probably replacing the whole frame. Here is a picture:

Replacement lids are available. Just need to know the brand of your existing vent.

Hey, that looked like my roof last Saturday morning. I took a picture of the hinge into my local rv dealer(Bill Plemmons,Raleigh,NC). They picked out the correct one. Took me about 20 minutes to change

there are three different types of hinges on the vent covers. hope you saved the lid so you can take it into a dealer to get the right lid.
