We boondock alot and I like taking showers outside. I first tried shower shoes, no go! They water shoes, no go!! Laid down a tarp, not happening!!! Took the portable step, DW said that wasn't happening!!!!

So I took an old waterheater pan and added a "grate" made from some "fake" wood decking, I had laying around. This is what I came up with. Note that I staggered the support bracing underneath for drainage. Also made the grate into two parts. Why??

Mind you, I still have to add a reducer with a bib for the grey water hose. No more standing or puddling water near the 5er.

We do ad-hock mission work (Storm Damage Cleanup) & often park on Church or storm damaged properties where water is usually available without a sewer hookup.

So using the outside shower (with screen ) allows us 10-15 days between dump station runs. We use a Semi Trailer mud flap for a shower mat which doubles as a hitch cover.

This would be great for kids coming back from the beach and hosing off before entering camper. keeping the mud puddle away.

How do you keep your feet clean after you take that first step off your platform?

I have to us a shower curtain, because I couldn't stand all the laughter from the other campers!!! Nothing here, to show off

When I'm finish, I step right into my clogs.
